Green Coding Training

This Green IT training will introduce you to metafinanz’s Green IT model (MMIGIT), provide insights into the efficiency of various data types, data structures and code structures, and offer practical experience in our Green Coding Measurement Lab. Over three sessions, you’ll gain the skills needed to write more efficient and sustainable code, leading to significant cost savings and enhanced developer enablement.

Each complete Green IT training consists of three 4-hour online sessions, led by two coaches from the metafinanz team. We offer this training in both German and English.

Green IT Training Overview

Session 1

• MMIGIT - metafinanz’s Green IT model: How it functions and how to leverage it for green coding.
• In-depth presentation of different data types and their efficiency.

Session 2

• Fundamental differences and use-cases of various structured data types
• Analyzing performance implications through hands-on experiments and working with Green Coding Measurement Lab
• Write software programs using efficient data structures and improve software efficiency

Session 3

• Identifying inefficient code structures and refactor them for better performance
• Understand the Quick Energy Consumption Improvement (QECI) model, part of the Assembly Line for Green IT semi-automated approach which drives the software applications to better efficiency and how to apply it to assess code quality
